Terms of Service

1. What Shoptey is

Shoptey provides the storefront, checkout, and payment infrastructure that lets independent merchants sell products online. We are a technology platform, not the seller of the products listed in your store — you are.

2. Your account

You must provide accurate information when creating your account and store, and keep it up to date. You're responsible for everything that happens under your account, including keeping your password secure.

You must verify your email address before your store becomes usable, and complete Stripe Connect onboarding before you can accept payments.

3. Your store and listings

You're responsible for the accuracy of your product listings — pricing, descriptions, images, and stock levels — and for fulfilling orders you receive. You control when your store is published and whether it appears on the Shoptey marketplace.

You may not list illegal products, counterfeit goods, or anything that infringes another party's rights. We may remove listings or suspend stores that violate this.

4. Fees and payments

Shoptey charges a platform fee of 8% of each order's subtotal, deducted automatically from the payment before the remainder is transferred to your connected Stripe account. There are no monthly fees or listing fees.

Payments are processed by Stripe. Shoptey never holds your funds — money from a sale goes directly to your own Stripe-connected bank account, minus our fee. Payout timing and any Stripe-side fees are governed by your agreement with Stripe.

5. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or restrict a store that violates these Terms, is flagged by Stripe's own risk systems, or is used for illegal or fraudulent activity. You may close your account at any time; open orders should be fulfilled or refunded first.

6. Your content

You retain ownership of the content you upload (product names, descriptions, photos). By listing it on Shoptey, you grant us the license needed to display and distribute it as part of operating your store and, if you opt in, the marketplace.

7. Disclaimers and liability

Shoptey is provided "as is." We don't guarantee uninterrupted availability, and we aren't responsible for disputes between you and your customers, or for losses arising from your use of the platform, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

8. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll update the date at the top of this page when we do; continuing to use Shoptey after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Norway.
